About
Spreyton Fresh.

A fifth-generation family grower and producer in the Mersey Valley, North West Tasmania. Since 1908.

Story

Spreyton Fresh is the parent company of the Spreyton family of brands. We grow the fruit, make the products and stand behind everything that leaves our orchard. That has been true since 1908 and it remains true today.

A family legacy rooted in Tasmanian soil.

Our great-grandparents established one of the first apple orchards in the Mersey Valley in 1908. Four generations on, the same family is still growing fruit on the same land, still using the same respect for the soil that made the orchard what it is.

The valley’s temperate climate, clean air and rich volcanic soils produce apples, pears and cherries of a quality that is genuinely difficult to find elsewhere. We are fortunate to farm here and we do not take it lightly.

See what we make

From growers to makers. The full story.

For most of our history we supplied fresh fruit to markets across Tasmania, mainland Australia and the world. In 1997, a downturn in juice apple prices prompted a decision that would change the direction of the business.

In 1998 we began juice production on site, introducing Spreyton Fresh Apple Juice to Tasmanian consumers. The response confirmed what we already knew about the quality of our fruit. In 2011 we began experimenting with cider ferments, and in 2012 Spreyton Cider Co. was launched with a dedicated cidery and cellar door.

Today Spreyton Fresh is the parent company behind the full range of Spreyton brands, all grown and made on our orchard in North West Tasmania.
